Community Conversation with Birthrights and WOMB

As part of our Baring-funded Community Conversations project, Birthrights is proud to share our partnership with WOMB as co-producers of an upcoming Community Conversation taking place in Cardiff this Thursday, 5th February 2026.

About WOMB

WOMB is a matricentric yoga studio in Cardiff that aims to reduce inequalities in menstrual and maternity wellbeing. We offer daily menstrual cycle-informed and perinatal yoga classes as well as workshops, drop-ins and 1-2-1 services.

Our inaugural Summer Festival is held in Grangetown and brings together community leaders, local healers and birthkeepers to offer a non-hierarchical, culturally rich day of womb-related activities.

Why would you like to host a Community Conversation with Birthrights in Cardiff?

Wales is underrepresented in maternity reports and we have a high number of sanctuary-seeking and global majority people who are disproportionately at risk of worse outcomes.

How could this opportunity benefit your community or the people you work with?

We believe that knowing our human rights in birth can help equip people navigating the maternity system that is sadly so broken.

Partnering with Birthrights would be an enormous step in the right direction of improving advocacy and birth rights knowledge.

This Community Conversation is open to:
• Mothers, birthing people & families
• Doulas, community advocates & support workers
• Midwives, health visitors & healthcare professionals

We will discuss human rights in pregnancy, birth and postnatal care within a safe and inclusive space. We will reflect on real experiences, explore what respectful, rights-based maternity care truly looks like, and help shape national training and advocacy.

Your voice will have real impact.

The Community Conversation will take place in two sessions:
— Morning: community members & families
— Afternoon: birthworkers & community partners

If you are interested in attending, contact WOMB via their website or their Instagram for the event sign-up link.
